The Time Decomposition Method for ANSYS Maxwell — new in ANSYS 17.0 — enables you to solve time steps simultaneously and fully leverage Hybrid High Performance Computing (HPC) architectures. Time steps are distributed to multiple nodes where multiple cores are engaged to provide a second layer of computational speed. These computational speed and capacity breakthroughs, which are only available in ANSYS Maxwell with HPC, make transient electromagnetic field simulation a viable design tool instead of a final verification tool. Simulations with over 100 million unknowns that used to require weeks of simulation time are now easily solved in a matter of hours.
